Jason Jenkins Wood Christian Counseling

In 2013, Jason graduated with a Master of Arts in Biblical and Professional
Counseling (MABC) degree from Dallas Theological Seminary. He also holds a
Bachelor’s degree in Communication from East Texas Baptist University.

For the last 17 years, Jason has worked with children and youth of all ages. For the last 10 years, Jason has served as a leader in numerous Children’s Ministries. Jason was the Children’s Director at Gateway Baptist Church (2013-2014) in Whitehouse, TX. He served as a lay leader at First Baptist Church in Marshall, TX (where he worked youth and college age children) and is currently serving with his wife, as lay leaders for the children’s
ministry and Life Group Fellowship at New Covenant Church in Longview, TX.

Jason has no doubts that the Lord has called him to work with children and families.  In addition to these things, Jason feels he has been called on to help women who have left abusive relationships and are looking for a new direction in their life as well as men who are dealing with temptations (whatever they may be) that are unhealthy for themselves and all those around them.

He believes that although we were made perfect in God’s image, we are imperfect in our daily lives because of living in a fallen world. We are a work in progress and sometimes need someone to walk with us as we struggle through life’s trials. Jason has a passion for helping children and families counseling with them through some of life’s greatest struggles.

Jason is a fully trained EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing)

trauma, as well as other mental health issues.

Other areas of focus are, but not limited to, premarital counseling, blended family issues, marriage/family, grief/bereavement, parenting, teen age mentoring, children who may be struggling at home, in school, or new and significant changes in life as they have known it.
