Jodie Barnett, LMSW
Counselor

Jodie graduated from Sam Houston State University in 2002 with a BA in Sociology then graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University in 2005 with a Master’s of Social Work.
She began working with residents in various long-term care facilities addressing behavioral and mental health needs with the aged and disabled. She also provided contract work as a home health social worker for various home health agencies, where she provided counseling and case management to aged and disabled clients receiving healthcare services in their own homes. Jodie also has experience in inpatient psychiatric facilitating group therapy.
Jodie and her husband, Jeremy, have been married 15 years and live in the Palestine area with their 5 children. Jodie has felt a desire and calling for years to work closely with others to address problems and help them overcome. Jodie has a heart for coming alongside people to see marriages restored and families made whole. Additionally, she loves working with the aged and disabled dealing with grief, bereavement, and aging. She believes that through a relationship with Jesus and a heart fully surrendered to Him, radical transformation can take place. She is currently working on completing an internship and supervision for her clinical social work license (LCSW).
Jodie’s hobbies are cooking, playing the piano, singing, reading, and playing with her kids. Jodie is “confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on until the day of Jesus Christ.” Philippians 1:6
